Для обновления существующей системы Scientific Linux 4x до 4.4 и пакетов,
подвергшихся изменениям, необходимо использовать yum.

Вы можете использовать Anaconda для осуществления новой установки Scientific
Linux 4.4 или же произвести обновление с версии Scientific Linux 30x до
Scientific Linux 4.4.

Этот раздел содержит общую информацию, которая не касается напрямую других
разделов этого документа.
o Начиная с Scientific Linux 4.4, Mozilla Suite замещен комплектом
Seamonkey, набором Интернет-приложений, разработанных Mozilla
Foundation и включающих в себя браузер, клиент электронной почты и групп
новостей, клиент чата IRC и редактор HTML. Рекомендуется переход
пользователей Mozilla Suite на Seamonkey, поскольку этот комплект
обладает той же функциональностью и разделяет ту же кодовую базу
"Mozilla Application Suite", поддержка которого более осуществляться
не будет.
И хотя это изменение возможно не произведёт немедленного воздействия на
пользователей за исключением гарантии долговременного обеспечения
исправлений безопасности, существенные изменения API и ABI браузера
будут иметь место. Поэтому приложения, использующие эти API (например,
подключаемые модули для браузера), могут быть также обновлены. Текущие
подключаемые модули для Firefox будут функционировать с браузером
Seamonkey Navigator.
o Начиная с Scientific Linux 4.4, брузер Firefox клиент электронной почты
Thunderbird обновлены до версии 1.5.x. Пользователям Firefox 1.0.x и
Thunderbird 1.0.x рекомендуется перейти к использованию версий 1.5.x
поскольку поддержка версий 1.0.х более осуществляться не будет.
Обратите внимание, что переход к Firefox 1.5.x приведёт к дополнительным
изменениям API и ABI браузера. Поэтому возможно понадобится выполнить
обновление приложений, использующих эти API (например,
расширения).
o Scientific Linux 4.4 включает предварительный выпуск gcc-4.1.
Обратите внимание, что предварительный выпуск gcc-4.1 не поддерживается
в средах разработки, и что интерфейсы gcc-4.1 и API могут быть
изменены на стадии технологического прогона. Полностью поддерживаемая
версия gcc-4.1 будет включена в один из следующих выпусков Scientific
Linux.
o Scientific Linux 4.4 включает возможность защищённого доступа Wi-Fi
(WPA) к базовым системным компонентам, включая ядро и беспроводные
утилиты, такие ка iwconfig и iwlist. В Scientific Linux 4.4 беспроводные
карты, поддерживающие WPA — это Intel Pro/Wireless 2100, 2200 и
2915. Устройства 2200 и 2915 требуют обновленного firmware, доступного в
обновленном пакете ipw2200-firmware, входящем в Scientific Linux 4.4.
o Связанные Ethernet интерфейсы ранее имели возможность подключения к
подчинённому адресату исключительно на основе MAC адресов источника и
цели для режимов balance-xor (режим 2) и 802.3ad (режим 4). Scientific
Linux 4.4 обеспечивает определение целевого интерфейса на основе IP
адресов источника и цели, а также их портов Layer 4 (TCP/UDP).
o Сервер NFS Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 Update 4 обладает новой
возможностью обработки списка управления доступом ACL (Access Control
List). Эта возможность поддерживается в NFS версии 3 и не поддерживается
в NFS версии 2. NFS-сервер Scientific Linux 4.4 обладает возможностью
принудительного использования данного ограничения.

Этот раздел содержит информацию относительно ядра Scientific Linux 4.4.
o Scientific Linux 4.4 содержит исправления предыдущих выпусков с
поддержкой более 16 процессоров систем AMD Opteron.
o Теперь доступна поддержка схем Intel I/O Controller Hub (ICH8)
southbridge.
Замечание
Если в вашей системе используется контроллер ICH8 SATA и в BIOS
для контроллера установлен режим IDE??, Scientific Linux 4.4 не сможет
распознать подсоединенное устройство.
В таком случае используйте контроллер ICH8 и установите в BIOS режим
AHCI. Решение этой проблемы планируется в следующих выпусках Scientific
Linux.
o Включена поддержка процессоров AMD Opteron Revision G (RevG)
o Scientific Linux 4.4 включает поддержку AMD Opteron RevF MCE. Версия F
процессоров AMD Opteron включает поддержку MCE DRAM Threshold counters.
Эти счетчики позволяют пользователю root задать порог корректируемых
ECC, которые могут быть получены от контроллера DRAM до вызова MCE. Это
свойство даёт возможность администраторам больших систем серверов
игнорировать нечастые ошибки ECC, вызванные радиацией, но в то же время
получать уведомление с помощью механизма MCE в случае сбоя схемы DRAM.
o Scientific Linux 4.4 содержит обновления драйверов для OpenIPMI (Open
source Intelligent Platform Management Interface — IPMI). В
частности, изменён API функции ipmi_register_smi().
o Scientific Linux 4.4 включает обновление OpenIB.org Infiniband до версии
1.0. Поскольку поддержка OpenIB открытым сообществом продолжается,
реализация OpenIB.org Infiniband в Scientific Linux 4.4 является
предварительным выпуском.
OpenIB 1.0 обеспечивает следующую аппаратную поддержку: ipath для AMD64
и Intel(R) EM64T платформ, mthca для ppc64 (за исключением iseries) и
ehca для всех ppc64. OpenIB 1.0 также активирует дополнительный драйвер
верхнего уровня (iser, драйвер iSCSI-over-IB).
o Scientific Linux 4.4 поддерживает более 184 прерываний (IRQ), что
позволяет устройствам с 128 слотами PCI иметь многофункциональные PCI
устройства.
o Scientific Linux 4.4 включает поддержку ATI SB450/SB460LF southbridge
для материнских плат Intel Grant County.
o Scientific Linux 4.4 включает поддержку ATI SB600 southbridge.
o Scientific Linux 4.4 включает поддержку Nvidia nForce 430/MCP51 IDE.
o В Scientific Linux 4.4 исправлено несоответствие параметров
scsi_mod parameters max_luns= и max_report_lun=.
o Scientific Linux 4.4 теперь включает поддержку diskdump для следующих

Замечание
Модули ioctl Qlogic и Emulex (qioctlmod, lpfcdfc) не загружаются
автоматически. Используйте команду modprobe для их загрузки.
o В ранних версиях ASM (Adaptec Storage Manager) системный журнал содержал
следующую запись:

Эта запись является предупреждающим сообщением, которое может быть
проигнорировано. Новые версии ASM не вызывают подобных сообщений.
o Драйвер lpfc Emulex включает параметр, контролирующий время ожидания I/O
(в секундах) для восстановления устройства после сбоя:
/sys/class/scsi_host/hostx/lpfc_nodev_tmo
В hostx x обозначает номер HBA. Значение по умолчанию - 30. В некоторых
случаях функциональность многоканального ПО восстановления после отказа
улучшается при установке значения в 10.
